Hormonal and development control of gene expression in wheat

Abstract

The effect of gibberellin (GA) on cereal aleurone cells is one of the best studied hormonal systems in plants (for review, see Akazawa & Miyata, 1982). The feature of this response considered in this paper involves the changes in the pattern of gene expression and the way in which expression of genes is co-ordinated in the aleurone cells and also at other stages in development.
