Michael Wigler (June 1994) DNA sequence encoding mas onhcogene, polypeptides encoded therefrom and diagnostic and other methods based therefrom. United States Patent 5320941. .
Abstract
This invention provides a DNA sequence comprising an activated oncogene, said oncogene encoding a polypeptide capable of transforming NIH3T3 cells and of inducing a tumor when injected into nude mice, said DNA sequence having a nucleotide sequence substantially as shown in FIGS. 3A and 3B. The invention also concerns a polypeptide molecule encoded by an activated oncogene, said molecule having the properties of transforming NIH3T3 cells and of inducing a tumor when injected into nude mice and further said polypeptide having an amino acid sequence substantially as shown in FIGS. 3A and 3B. Finally, this invention provides a method for treating a tumor induced by an activated mas oncogene.
