Abstract

The effects of past feeding conditions upon the antiserum induced transformation pattern of serotype D, stock 47, variety 4, Paramecium aurelia, were investigated. Remote past history was found to affect the direction of initial transformation. After prolonged growth under conditions of limited food, animals respond to antiserum exposure by transforming to serotype B.
