Abstract

WE HAVE PREVIOUSLY SHOWN (1) that, when dwarf mice from the purebred Silver strain are used throughout, a recombination of isoelectrically insoluble and soluble fractions from extracts of the anterior pituitary yields potentiation beyond their additive growth-stimulating effects by as much as 10 to 20-fold. The significance of this conclusion has been questioned by Boettiger and Osborn (2) who present data for untreated dwarf mice that show as much growth as most of our treated dwarfs.
